Amongst The Debris
Though it may seem like a sea of red this morning as one looks at price gains and losses concerning the stock market, there are a few "green shoots" even amongst today's tumult.
An example could be the much touted Templton Asia mutual funds. For example as of the moment, Templeton Asia growth, advisor, etc mutual funds are doing ok. With their prices up over 1% so far, these funds are really showing their resilience.
These funds are also known to be pretty fantastic funds. Amongst the advisors for these funds is Mark Mobius. Mobius is a really fantastic emerging markets visionary.
Either way, just in case one's watch list etc was all red, just wanted to throw that out there.
Some Days.
As the clock rolls past 7:51 this morning, the premarket nyse numbers are looking a little rough.
The S&P is down 9.20
The Nasdaq is down 19.25
The Dow is down 88 points.
Needless to say, it looks like it could be one of those days, where all that effort put into reading WWI novels may pay off, for now one will be prepared for an onslaught, and how to dig to avoid it.
On the other hand, yesterday's premarket figures were green, and the day ended down. Hence the beginning of these twisted tales don't always give away the finale.
European issues per se are of course still in the forefront of the market gestalt. The facebook bonanza, or not-so-bonanza, is also kind of a looming issue, with people frustrated with the possibility that big fish investors got information pertaining to projected Facebook revenues, that the proverbial man on the street did not. Either way, looks like its going to be another fun morning here in the world of tickers and tribulations.
Another High Yielder At The NYSE
A stock that is somewhat similar in terms of payout to MPW is ARR. ARR has a higher yield, but both are good deals in term of yield.
