That is not even Perfect Worlds best game. This is a **Chinese** gaming company. If one is to get a feel for the game - and therefore, the company, one would have to get the opinion of the target audience. Something is almost always lost in translation from Chinese to English.Fact: the english speaking market is already nearly saturated - over 70% of American households have internet. But only 19% of Chinese households have internet and there's already more Chinese online than there are Americans. The growth potential for those who target the Chinese gaming audience is obvious, and who better to target them than a Chinese company?. For Perfect World, the English game versions are like sprinkles on an already delicious cake - hardly even neccessary. Reply

I'm still holding, though they do have a bit of a pink sheets discount now. I expect them to still have enough volume to be a viable investment for me, and I think they should still do well (though I continue to be worried about TV competition in S. Africa ... hopefully some of their emerging markets investments will do as well as Tencent and make that less of an issue in the years ahead). ReplyFinding an Opening into Naspers [view article]
I own Naspers and have been a bit confused as to keeping it since it delisted from the Nasdaq. It has taken a pretty good hit since that delisting. In your opinion is this move a killer to it's future value and ability to trade in the States. Should one sell and buy it on the JSE or the LSE where it's suppose to be offered this year. There are some interesting points in this article but it feels like a forced PR piece with every other paragraph beginning with a re-introduction to the author's name and company.I will agree with the author that the key measure of Pepsi's vs. Coke's success was involvement. Specially the depth of involvement by the user is what really matters for success.
On the other hand if, the depth of involvement is a "hit," as stated in the later Samsung example, I feel the author diminishes the point. A "hit" is a poor measure of a website's traffic-- let alone of a brands ability to create positive buzz or involvement.
A better measure in this case is looking back at where the article began, namely the amount of positive (or negative) comments about the Brand and it's campaign in the Blogs and the China Bulletin Board System (BBS). This was the case (positive) with Pepsi and (negative) for Dell.
Sam Flemming and the folks at CICData.com who have been working with brands for years on how to measure and influence the involvement of Chinese consumers on China's Blog & BBS conversations.
And from an investor's perspective, Venture Capitalists are investing heavily into following and capturing these conversations via investments in Qihoo (BBS & Blog Search) and the continued rapid rise of QQ and it's community centric platform are better examples. Reply
